| About IWCF
In the Fall of 2001, a small group of women gathered to found an organization whose mission was to inspire other women with the power of collaborative philanthropy. Nearly seven years later, and more than 230 members strong, more than one-half million dollars has as been invested in southwest Idaho, and beyond.
Our members learn about the community's greatest needs, and through an educated, democratic process pool their money and direct if to where they believe it will make the greatest impact. Through the individual designation process, members also have the opportunity to direct a portion of their dues to organizations that are personally meaningful to them.
IWCF members don’t just give back. They “give forward” – ahead of the need – to make a real impact. It is an understatement to say that IWCF has been a successful model of charitable giving. In 2006, the Idaho chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals named us Outstanding Foundation of the Year; and we have been active mentors in the start of two additional chapters – The Women’s Gift Alliance in North Idaho, and the Wood River Women’s Charitable Foundation in Blaine County.
